Applications for the 2024/2025 academic year are now open!

Want to be part of a close-knit, dynamic and involved club on campus? We’re looking for passionate, motivated, and dedicated pre-med students to join our team and make 2024/2025 another great year for the pre-medical society!

We are currently accepting applications to fill a variety of general member positions on our team:

  • communications officer (x3)

  • outreach coordinator (x5)

  • events team member (x6)

  • academic coordinator (x4)

  • fundraising officer (x2)

Brief Role Descriptions:
Communications Officer: Communication Officers will work directly under the VP Communication and are responsible for creating event pages, managing our social media, as well as creating promotional posters for events.

Outreach Coordinator: The outreach coordinator will act as the face of promotion for the club, and that entails doing class talks, assisting the execs on speaking to doctors, professors, and local businesses for promotions. These coordinators need to be comfortable in delivering on event promotion, and talking directly to doctors and administration members if need be. The outreach coordinators will be working closely with and under the VP Outreach to spread awareness about the clubs’ goals and events. Outreach Coordinators may also bring the VP Outreach ideas for outreach opportunities for the club, such as brainstorming local organizations to contact for exclusive club volunteering.

Events Team Member: Events team members will be responsible for working under the VP of Events and Operations in maintaining the club’s historic events as well as taking an active role in producing new ideas that the club can implement. This role will involve great strategic effort in planning as well as implementation of any events the club is hosting whether they be in a virtual or in-person format. Events Team Members will also help recruit speakers at the event, and plan venues/format of the event alongside the VP Events. Strong collaboration skills along with creativity will allow individuals in this role to succeed.

Academic Coordinator: Academic coordinators are expected to have a strong understanding of the path to medical school (pre-requisites, MCAT requirements, admission stipulations). The academic coordinators also construct the educational materials for our informational events such as our MCAT AMA, Mock Interview judge questions, CASPer event, and more. Academic Coordinators are also expected to hold office hours of about 1-2 hours a week, during which students may email them or schedule meetings to discuss medical school related questions. Students with MCAT experience are preferred, but a good understanding of the pre-med ladder to medical school will suffice. Academic Coordinators must be open to learning, research/fact-checking, and ensuring that only accurate information is being given.

Fundraising Officer: The fundraising officer is tasked with bringing fundraising ideas for the team to vote on. These fundraising ideas can range from bake sales to large socials depending on the timing and scope of the current school atmosphere and can be used to raise funds for any relevant local organization. Fundraising Officers will be responsible for the execution of fundraising events (planning details of how the fundraiser will be run), with the assistance of the events team if necessary. A fundraising officer is expected to be creative, have an understanding of fundraising for student clubs, and be able to be proactive by working with other clubs to create fundraising opportunities for the Premed Society.
